Arranged to meet a few friends for a session on the shingle, expectations were high that fish would be caught although most of us were trying for the elusive cod, bites were very slow although one of our fishing party started quite well with a couple of whiting and a codling but for me no bites until just before top of the tide when I had a nice rattle on the rod which produced a small whiting 28 cm, no other bites for me until just before packing up and another whiting smaller this time, there was another codling caught that evening think best was 53 cm so not too bad for the lads to land a couple.
Throughout the day/evening the temperature continued to drop and by the time I arrived home was -4, this was the coldest fishing session I had witnessed but won't stop me going again.
Quite a few shooting stars to be seen too
