Weybourne 24 December 2012
Decided on a spur of the moment trip to Weybourne, didn't have any fresh lug so decided to use squid and salted lug sausage fished at distance under the cliffs (still after that cod lol).
Had a few bites from first cast but none hooked (probably due to larger hooks) then at about half tide had a small whiting quickly followed by a tiny rockling but that was it.
Weather a bit poor heavy rain to start which turned into heavy drizzle, forecast was to dry up in the afternoon but didn't happen, by the time I packed up the wind had turned Northerly and increased to 20 mph.
Few others fishing but didn't notice fish being caught in any numbers.
Decided it was time to leave when my beach buddy blew down, this was a first as normally is very stable but in the swirling strengthening wind it did.
No weed.

Walcott and Weybourne 21 December 2012
Me and Smelly went to Walcott today arrived at 09:30 to a sea that looked more like cod than dabs with waves around 4 to 5 ft but after a fishless few hours at Walcott we moved to Weybourne to join Allstar and Supersonic.
As we arrived at our chosen spot Supersonic had just had a cod and a few large whiting but Allstar had struggled so wasn't sure how we would get on.
Was surprised to get a double hook up first cast 29 cm whiting and a scorpion fish on a 1/0 2 hook flapper then it went quiet until just before dark when I had a slack liner on a single 2/0 clip down, wound down and fish was on felt decent too only to loose it in the surf, was it a cod we will never know lol.
Once dark fell had another decent whiting then the slugs started had 7 of them finishing off with 2 edible crabs just short of sizeable so all in all a decent session, finished at 18:00.

Weybourne 17th December 2012
After yesterdays session at Weybourne just had to go back again today, conditions similar to yesterday sightly more wind approx 14 mph which made it feel colder than the expected 8 degrees.
Arrived at the beach to see three others fishing, one under the cliffs on the rough ground the other two left of the outfall pipe.
My set up today was:
Rod 1... 2/0 hook, single clip down baited with squid or peeler crab.
Rod 2... 1/0 circle hook, single clip down baited with raw prawn, squid or herring strips
Bites were hard to come by in fact only had about 5 bites all session which produced three fish all to rod 2 baited with squid, these were two dabs and a short spined scorpion fish, all bites on rod two produced fish and as this was the first time I had used circle hooks quite pleased with the result, bites on rod 1 fished at distance all missed, presumably small fish.
Spoke to both the chap fishing the rough ground (2 dabs on squid) and one of the chaps fishing left of the pipe (plenty of fish both dabs and whiting all on frozen lugworm) had about 3 lb of fish to take home.
Suspect today was a day for worm based on others results.

Weybourne 16th December 2012
Decided today to revisit Weybourne, arrived at 09:30 (HT 08:30, 5.10m) wind SW 12 mph and sunny sea flat, was still hopeful of a few fish.
Set up rod one with single hook clip down to a size 2/0 hook baited with lugworms in the hope that the odd cod may be around whilst set up on rod 2 was the same with a 1/0 hook baited with mackerel strip, had bites from the off on both rods mainly whiting but all of a good size with the odd green dabs thrown in, caught 16 fish before bites dropped off at 10:40, 10 whiting biggest 33 cm, 5 green dabs biggest 30 cm and a small rockling so not a bad short session.
Most of the fish caught were on mackerel strip but this didn't surprise me as the worms were only leftovers from the other day and not very good.
Planning on trying again tomorrow so watch this space.

Weybourne 12th December 2012
Arranged to meet a few friends for a session on the shingle, expectations were high that fish would be caught although most of us were trying for the elusive cod, bites were very slow although one of our fishing party started quite well with a couple of whiting and a codling but for me no bites until just before top of the tide when I had a nice rattle on the rod which produced a small whiting 28 cm, no other bites for me until just before packing up and another whiting smaller this time, there was another codling caught that evening think best was 53 cm so not too bad for the lads to land a couple.
Throughout the day/evening the temperature continued to drop and by the time I arrived home was -4, this was the coldest fishing session I had witnessed but won't stop me going again.
Quite a few shooting stars to be seen too

Hunstanton, 8th December 2012
As there was a break in the current weather I decided on a last minute trip to Hunstanton (sailing club ramp area), arrived three hours before high tide to find a deserted beach which didn't surprise me given the current cold, wet and windy conditions.
The sea looked good and well coloured so hopes were high, got the fork out to get myself a few worms for the session, as the tide was on the flood digging a few worms was easy, 20 worms soon appeared in the bait tray which would be enough for the session as I could only fish until just before high tide as my football team were at home today.
With the colour of the sea I expected a bit of weed and was surprised to find no weed.
Tackle was a 2 hook flapper (size 1 hooks) on rod 1 and a 1 hook clip down (size 1/0 hook) on rod 2.
With the exception of unseen crab/small fish activity the rods just sat there for 90 minutes (bait changes every 30 minutes) until 11:50 am when I had a good pull down on rod 2 which was cast at 60 yards but the bite never materialised and spent the next hour drinking my coffee before packing up at 1 pm.
The weather was wind NW 12 mph, temperature 3 degrees and sunny.
High Tide 13:15 (5.8 m)
